Maybe in some kitchen in a parallel universe far, far away, there’s an unadorned refrigerator, humming silently along with not one magnet, photo or note clinging to its sides, but here on Earth, everyone I know has a fridge that looks like something like mine — a box with every available surface covered with a jumbled collection of photos, notes, grocery lists.”
